T-shirt Finge Scarf

Supplies

Old T-shirt

Sharp scissors

Choose an old t-shirt & lay it out flat.           

Cut off the top of the shirt under the armpits and below the neckline

Cut fringe across the bottom. Approx. every half inch. Five inches long

(You can make larger cuts for larger fringe or longer cuts for longer fringe)

 Then stretch each piece of fringe 

(It won't stretch a lot)

OPTIONAL

Tie the bottom of the fringe into little knots

The completed look w/ knotted fringe

Totally simple..I did use a henley shirt..while it doesn't look terrible, I probably wouldn't do it again!

Fun Fur Wreath

Supplies

Foam or Straw Wreath

Two packs of fun fur 

One pack of small ribbon 

One pack of Large ribbon to hang (optional)

Decorative Items (butterflies, birds, flowers, feathers, or leaves)

Hot Glue Gun

  I wrapped the wreath in the fun fur (seriously took forever)! Then wrapped it with the ribbon in an even pattern. I hot glued on decorative butterflies and found some matching ribbon to hang it with. The pics appear a little purple but it's it's really not. The theme I chose was neutral spring/summer. Sometimes spring can be too pastel and summer can be too bright. This was a nice alternative and will match any house.

Cost: $15  Fun Fur is expensive but look for sales! Also I suggest looking at different places for ribbon because after I made this one I found lots of cool ribbon for way less moolah! The butterflies came in a pack of 8 for $6 which was robing me blind but now I have them for other projects. Just hit the sales...there's no need to break the bank on a wreath! (Sunday paper always has coupons for craft stores)

Upcycled Rag Wreath

Supplies

Foam or Straw Wreath

Fabric Scraps (cut into approx 10 inches long by 1 inch wide)

It's no longer "easy as cake" it's now easy as making a rag wreath!

Just rip up the fabric in 1 inch wide strips long enough to go around your wreath and tie them on! I chose to use 3 colors but you could do as many as you want! I have an abundance of fabric scraps and could do any combination or color I wanted. This one is fun for summer and easy to do with the kids. They will have fun ripping the fabric and it's easy to tie them on. No glue, no sewing, and no artistic talent needed. If I could do it so can you!

Owl Yarn Wreath

Supplies

Styrofoam Wreath

Yarn of choice (I used Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Mustard Color)

Felt (maroon, brown, and green)

Stick (from my yard)

Crocheted Owl (you could use a little bird or anything you find that's totally adorable)

Hot Glue

I started by wrapping the wreath in the yarn, which does take a good amount of time. To make the roses cut out all different size circles from the felt. The bigger the circle, the bigger the flowers will be. Cut around the outside of the circle to give it wavy look. Then cut at any point on the circle in a spiral shape so u will end up with a long thing strip. About a 1/4 to 1/2 inches thick.

Now to start rolling the flowers you will take the end of the felt where you began cutting and start to roll. Make sure to keep it tight in the beginning so it holds. Keep rolling and at the very end use the last piece to cover the bottom and hot glue the flower together. ( I will post pictures on how to do this in another blog, eventually.)

To make the leaves I cut them out in a leafy shape and used a pencil to drop on the veins in the leafs. Totally optional. 

Then just hot glue everything in place where your heart desires. I even hot glued leaves to my stick and I thought that was just super cute!

The total cost of this wreath was about $5  Most expensive part was the yarn and I splurged to get that specific color. I really enjoyed making this wreath and think that it is my best one so far! The picture doesn't do it justice!

Friendship Headphones

Here's what you will need!

Favorite pair of headphones/ear buds

1 spool of crochet thread ($3 at craft store)

It's really simple to do this..especially if you already have knowledge on how to make friendship bracelets! However this is the most tedious project I have ever done and it seems like it takes forever. All you do is double knot the string onto the cord and then repeatedly tie knots around the cord. Any place that you need to skip over, just tie it off and cut it and pick up on the other side. I also used super glue on all the ends where I cut the string, just so it does not come undone after allllll that work!

They really look great and I am trilled at how they turned out! BUT GOLLY GEE WHIZ that was a pain!

Chocolate Candy Coated Cake

Ingredients:

• Box cake mix
• Icing (homemade or 1 container)
• 1 bag of Chocolate Candies (You may need two depending on cake size)

Prepare the cake as directed and let cool down.  Ice the cake and place in refrigerator for approximately 20 minutes until icing sets up a little. Then decorate the cake in a wavy pattern with the candies! EASY!!

I used 8 inch cake pans and just over 1 bag of candies. I sprinkled extra around the edge of the cake and started in the middle of the cake with the wave. Happy Birthday Mom!
